I wanted to share this post for anyone who has a friend or family member that is currently pregnant and about to begin their postpartum journey. I am the first one of my friends to have a baby so I thought it would be fun to share my guide to the Ultimate Postpartum Gift Basket. Let’s get started!
Now that I am in my late twenties more and more people are starting to have families of their own. I realized that most people might not know what to get their postpartum friend or family member. Being 18 months postpartum, I made a list of the things I would have liked to received / just gifted my best friend who is just starting their postpartum journey. I can attest that these gifts are postpartum mom approved!
First on the list is a comfy set of PJs for the mom.
-Perfect Postpartum PJ set
-Black Color
-Make sure to size up
Most people bring clothes or toys for the baby but rarely think of the mom so this is the perfect gift. When choosing the set, please ensure it is dark colored. The postpartum journey is messy to say the least so a nice set of dark PJs is a perfect gift! I love the short sleeve option on these because you sweat so much in those early days due to hormonal changes.
Second on the list is energy bars, balls, or just snacks in general.
It is so vital for postpartum moms to make sure they are eating especially during those middle of the night feeds. An energy bar or ball is the perfect snack. These mini Cliff Bars are the perfect grab and go snack. You can also make them at home with just 4 ingredients that you probably already have at home. I will link and post the recipe ASAP.
Third on the list is Pads. You just can never ever get enough of pads in the postpartum season so this is a must!
-Organic Cotton Pads are a must Postpartum
-Overnight Extra Long is great for Leaks
-Fragrance and Chlorine Free
Organic Cotton Pads are perfect for Postpartum moms. You might be bleeding for up to 8 weeks and usually cannot use tampons so having a comfortable pad is essential. I love these because they are organic, fragrance, and chlorine free which is essential especially when you are wearing them everyday.
Fourth on the list is a little self care for the mom. I love the idea of a shower bomb and eye patches!
-Perfect Self Care Gift
-Smells Amazing
-Made with Real Essential Oils
These are the perfect little treat for a newly postpartum mom. The shower bomb is great because when they can actually grab a shower, it is the perfect way to unwind. I also love the eye patches because they can just throw them on while feeding the baby on the couch or in bed.
Fifth on the list is a home cooked or store bought meal. Please never show up empty handed when visiting new parents! Bring something like a casserole or if you know their favorite food place, get a take out order. I am planning to post recipes on the blog soon so stay tuned!
Finally last on the list is a baby book. We can’t forget the new baby in all of this, so I just love the idea of a book as a present.
-Such a cute story
-Illustrations are beautiful
-Favorite in our house
We absolutely love this book in our house. It is also not a super popular book so hopefully you will avoid giving a duplicate book. I just think a baby can’t have too many books!
Thanks for reading my Ultimate Postpartum Gift Basket. Extra points if you find a cute basket to hold all the gifts. Let me know your thoughts or if you have any ideas for a perfect gift for a newly postpartum mom.
